Our Humanities faculty comprises History, Geography, Religious Studies and PSHCE.
Humanities has become one of the most popular faculty areas at Co-op Academy Swinton and has enjoyed increasing success in relation to GCSE outcomes in recent years.
Our Humanities faculty prides itself on its commitment to maintaining high expectations of both teachers and students, and to providing a stimulating and productive learning environment in which our students can succeed in fulfilling their potential as well as developing a lifelong passion for learning.
History, Geography and RS are taught to all students in Years 7, 8 and 9 but are optional at GCSE. However, students are strongly encouraged to continue either History or Geography at GCSE level to qualify for the English Baccalaureate qualification which is fast becoming the Gold Standard in Secondary Education.
PSHCE is delivered within a dedicated weekly session for each year group. Students learn in their form groups with their form teachers.
