KS3 Food and Nutrition Contribution
Parents/carers of children in Years 7, 8 and 9
As part of the making element in Design Technology, your child will get the chance to experience different cooking skills and techniques. To cover these, they will cook a variety of products and meals. Ideally, we would like to provide all the ingredients for you, saving both time and money.
We fully understand that, for many households, spare money is a challenge at the moment, and that due to the home-school period students have been unable to cook as expected.
As we are now back in the classroom and on track to complete our full curriculum, we are now engaging in all planned practical cooking lessons.
Therefore, we have planned a way to provide the ingredients for your child at a lower cost.
The ingredients will be ready in school for your child and this would reduce the cost to you to just £15 that covers all the practical lessons. Your child will need to bring a container to school to carry the finished product home.
If you have not already done so, we are asking for a voluntary contribution of £15 please, or for you to provide the ingredients for your child each week they have a practical lesson. PLEASE NOTE this is not a new payment if you have already paid last term.
After the Easter break your child will bring home a timetable demonstrating all of the practical cooking sessions that will take place before the end of the school year.
To make collection easier within school we are asking that all monies be paid online through via Scopay no later than Friday 30 April 2021.
Due to the current climate, we understand this could be a difficult time for you, therefore we do ask that if there are any issues at all to please contact the school.
A copy of this letter will be sent home with your child on Wednesday 31 March which includes a reply slip where we ask that you inform us of any food allergies or intolerances on the reply slip.
