Be part of our mission!

Be part of our mission!

Our academy has supported the fantastic Hits Radio’s ‘Mission Christmas’ appeal for a number of years now and this year is no exception. We have once again registered as an official drop off point for anyone wanting to donate a gift to this amazing cause.

Mission Christmas is back to make this Christmas Day different for local children living in poverty.

Some families were already struggling to make ends meet, and the impact of COVID-19 has pushed even more into poverty. For so many this year Christmas is a luxury they just can’t afford.

If you’d like to help out, please buy an extra present this year and donate it to Mission Christmas. You can donate your gifts at our academy reception.

The Mission needs new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0-18. Please drop off your gifts BEFORE 9am on Thursday 10 December.

Suggested gift ideas by age are:
0-3 years : Teddies, musical toys, rattles, books, play mats
3-5 years : Cars, dolls, jigsaws, dress-up items, playdoh, colouring books and pencils
5-7 years : Lego, art and craft sets, skipping ropes, snow globes, jewellery sets, action figures, board games
7-9 years : Footballs, board games, remote control toys, stationery sets
9-12 years : Board games, make up sets, nail varnish
12-18 years : Intricate colouring books, pens, nail varnish, make up sets, aftershave

In past years our parents, carers, students and staff have been overwhelmingly generous with their donations and we’ve delivered boxes and boxes of gifts to the charity’s ‘Mission HQ’. We’re really hopeful that we can replicate this again this year and look forward to being able to make a difference to families in our local community and the wider Manchester area not as fortunate as ourselves.

Take a look at hits radio.co.uk/mission to find out more about the appeal and more fundraising ideas. The difference it will make to children and families in our local area.

Come on Co-op Academy Swinton, we can do this!
