Bushcraft Adventure planned for Year 7s this Summer

We are delighted to announce that we are organising a fantastic 3-day residential adventure with The Bushcraft Company. We are very lucky to have secured a booking as the centre is very popular with other school groups.  The details of our adventure are:

Date : Monday 6-Wednesday 8 July 2020
Centre: Broughton Woods (The Chase) NN14 1EB

For those of you who have not heard of The Bushcraft Company, our adventure will be set in some of the most beautiful privately-owned UK woodlands. We will have exclusive use of a woodland safari style camp and be guided by a highly qualified and responsible team.  This is an exciting opportunity for students to learn through adventure in a safe, yet challenging, environment.  The adventure activities are designed to develop leadership skills and resilience, demanding resourcefulness, decision-making and practical thinking from students. Examples of the planned activities may include:

  • Camp-Craft
  • Wilderness Cookery
  • Camouflage & Concealment
  • Survival Bracelet Workshop
  • Shelter Building
  • Wild Food Workshop
  • Fire Lighting
  • First Aid in the Wilderness
  • Scenario Based Activities

We will be sleeping in tented accommodation, and have all our food and snacks provided.  Some of the delicious meals we may experience on camp are:

  • Cheese Burgers
  • Big Cooked Breakfast
  • Lemon Drizzle Cake
  • Pasta Bolognese
  • Pannassed Salmon
  • American Pancakes
  • Chocolate Brownies
  • Clay Oven Fired Pizzas
  • Bushcraft BBQ

The total cost of this adventure is £191.50 per student and includes:

  • Return coach travel
  • Full board accommodation
  • A packed itinerary of adventure activities with instruction, supervision and equipment

To confirm our booking, an initial non-refundable deposit of £70 will be required by Wednesday 12 February 2020.

Closer to the adventure we will of course arrange a parent’s information evening, where you can find out more about The Bushcraft Company, activities, food, accommodation and our planned adventure.  In the meantime, if you do wish to find out more about The Bushcraft Company, please do visit their website: www.thebushcraftcompany.com
