GCSE Exam Results Day, Thursday 20 August 2020
I hope this letter finds you and your families safe and well, I know many of our school community have been impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic or its knock-on effects. Our thoughts go out to all of you who have felt the harm caused by this terrible situation. If there is anything we can do to support you, then please get in touch.
We have really missed all of you and are sorry that we have not been able to celebrate the usual milestones together. We have been considering how to manage results day this year and are pleased to announce the arrangements for this.
Year 11 students will be able to collect their results in person from 10am-12 noon on Thursday 20 August. This will be managed via a one way entry and exit system with staff asking Year 11 students to line up on the 2 metre dots outside school on Sefton Road. Only two students at one time will be able to enter the school building via the student entrance to collect their results on the main corridor before exiting the building via the school reception. Hand sanitising stations will be in place at the entrance and exit and our staff will ask students to use these as they enter and leave the building. Parents/Carers will not be able to enter the school with their child but are more than welcome to wait outside the school gates whilst maintaining a safe distance from others.
If a Year 11 student is unable to collect their results themselves, they must email Mrs Maher, Exams Officer firstname.lastname@example.org to nominate an adult who will collect on their behalf. This adult must then bring identification to school, following the same procedures as those for Year 11 students by queuing outside of school.
Any results not collected on Thursday 20 August will be available to collect from the main school office during the hours 9am-2pm throughout the summer and during normal office hours 8am-4pm from September.
Please understand that on results day, students will only receive a Provisional Statement of Results, this is not your certificate. You will be invited to school to receive your certificates at a later date, once they have been received from the exam boards. We hope this will be in the form of the usual presentation evening in the Autumn term but we cannot make firm arrangements for an event of this kind given the current situation.
If you have any questions please email Mrs Maher, Exams Officer at email@example.com or contact the school office on 0161 794 6215.
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 20 August.
