Wonderful Year 7 Inter-form football tournament

As part of our fundraising effort in school for our school charity ‘Just a Drop‘ our Year 7 group staged an inter-form football tournament last week. All eight forms participated over what were two intense, fun filled days where both girls and boys participated together on teams representing their form groups.

Our two guest ‘referees’ were Year 10 students Cameron Cavens and Adam Gillett who had to be on their toes and officiated brilliantly and were a credit to our PE faculty.

Day 1 saw our quarter finals played in a very spirited yet competitive manner. 7NBe and 7RIc were involved in a roller-coaster ride with a final score of 5-4. 7GSh played a defensive brand of football which earned them the result they so desperately wanted and a counter attacking goal, finished by McCauley Stockton, saw them advance to the semi-finals.

Day 2 lived up to the expectations of many. Fine weather and a lively two semi-finals which involved Year 7s finest footballers.

Georgia Veitch-Maines demonstrated her superb dribbling skills and speed to provide what was a sublime finish by Jenson Bateman.

The nail-biting final between 7LMa and 7NBe proved to be a close affair until Gracie Cormican played a neat pass through to Jenson Bateman once again who scored the first of his two goals in the final.

7LMa ran out 3-0 winners and were deservedly crowned our Year 7 Inter-form Champions for 2019…well done everyone who participated!
