Christmas creations with Clifton Primary

Last week a group of our Year 8 Students who are members of Manchester United Foundation Hub Officer, Adele Howarth’s ‘Social Action Lesson’ took a morning trip down to Clifton Primary School to make Christmas cards with some of their Year 5 pupils.

The girls had to come up with the activity to help benefit the community and wanted the younger pupils have the opportunity to make Christmas cards and then later in the month deliver them to elderly people in a local care home.

Our girls, and the Clifton Primary pupils, thoroughly enjoyed the morning and managed to make a staggering 150 cards between them as well as fitting in a surprise visit from Fred the Red!

Co-op Academy Swinton Year 8 student Neave Smyth said;

“We’ve had such a top morning with the primary school pupils, it was so exciting, especially when they saw Fred the Red come in. We can’t wait to deliver these to the care home now. From all of us Year 8s, thank you for having us Clifton Primary!”
