Year 7 Emerging Talent Tournament
Earlier this week our Year 7 Boys’ Football Team took part in the Manchester United Foundation ‘Emerging Talent Tournament’ at The Cliff Training Ground. It was a tense tournament and our team competed in four matches of 18 minutes each. The team worked their socks off and were rewarded with the amazing results below.
We are proud to announce that, at the end of the tournament, our determined and talented Year 7 team were crowned UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS and came back to Co-op Academy Swinton with the biggest smiles on their faces!
Adele Howarth, our Manchester Foundation Officer stated;
The quality of football I saw today from each one of the boys was incredible. They worked hard as a squad and thoroughly deserved to win. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this team as they have the potential to be exceptional. I was so proud, well done boys!
Team captain, Callum Farnie said;
Today we all played so well. From the start of the tournament, we had a good attitude towards winning and that definitely paid off. We were positive and supported each other every game and, on the pitch, worked so well as a team. The Foundation put on a great tournament, and we will all look forward to the next one. This was our first tournament and it was immense that we won, we can’t wait for the next one which we will push to win as well.
