Music
Music has the ability to enable expression and nurture creativity in everyone; it forms communities and holds a vital place in cultures the world over.
Music helps us to understand the world’s different cultures and ways of life, leading us to discover how music brings us together.
This philosophy is one that we, at Co-op Academy Swinton, shape our Music curriculum around, with the intrinsic belief that Music should be accessible to everyone. We believe that a broad musical education is integral to our students’ learning, achieved through a wide range of listening/appraising, performance and composition activities throughout their whole school experience with us.
We provide a range of extra-curricular activities for students to get involved in, such as the school choir, song-writing and production club, and keyboard club to name but a few. We have a wide range of high-quality instruments, music software and recording facilities to give students the opportunity to form bands and record their own music in our professional-standard recording studio.
