Fantastic adventure opportunity for Years 7 and 8 with The Bushcraft Company

Dear Year 8 Parent/Carer,

We are delighted to announce that we are organising a fantastic residential adventure with The Bushcraft Company. We are very lucky to have secured a booking as the centre is very popular with other school groups. The details of our adventure are:

Monday 8th July 2019 – Wednesday 10th July, 2019

Boughton Woods, Northamptonshire, NN14 1EB

Wednesday 10th July 2019 – Friday 12th July 2019
Boughton Woods, Northamptonshire, NN14 1EB

For those of you who have not heard of The Bushcraft Company, our adventure will be set in some of the most beautiful privately-owned UK woodlands. We will have exclusive use of a woodland safari style camp and be guided by a highly qualified and responsible team. This is an exciting opportunity for students to learn through adventure in a safe, yet challenging, environment. The adventure activities are designed to develop leadership skills and resilience, demanding resourcefulness, decision-making and practical thinking from students. Examples of the planned activities may include:
Camp-Craft, Survival Bracelet Workshop, Fire Lighting, Wilderness Cookery, Shelter Building, First Aid in the Wilderness, Camouflage & Concealment, Wild Food workshop and Scenario Based Activities

We will be sleeping in tented accommodation, and have all our food and snacks provided. Some of the delicious meals we may experience on camp are:
Cheese Burgers, Pasta Bolognese, Chocolate Brownies, Big Cooked Breakfast, Panassed Salmon, Clay Oven Fired Pizzas, Lemon Drizzle Cake, American Pancakes and Bushcraft BBQ

The total cost of this adventure is £210 per student and includes: Return coach travel, Full board accommodation and a packed itinerary of adventure activities with instruction, supervision and equipment.

The trip is open to all Year 7 and 8 students and 100 places have been provisionally booked for each Year Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students, but to access the trip high levels of attendance, behaviour and effort in school are needed. To confirm a place on the trip, an initial non-refundable deposit of £20 will be required by 19th October 2018.

Closer to the adventure we will, of course, supply more in-depth information regarding the activities, where you can find out more about The Bushcraft Company, activities, food, accommodation and our planned adventure. In the meantime, if you do wish to find out more about The Bushcraft Company, please do visit www.thebushcraftcompany.com

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at school. Forms (sent home with students on Wednesday 26th September) must be returned to school with the deposit to secure your child’s place on this residential trip.

Yours sincerely,
Mr M Dodd, Year 8 Pupil Progress Co-ordinator & Mr Sloan, Year 7 Pupil Progress Co-ordinator
